Foreclosure Trackers, Inc. was founded in 2006 by CEO Robert Lee and President David Phelps. Both investors themselves, Lee and Phelps were frustrated with the amount of research they found necessary in order to successfully leverage into foreclosure properties. Both Lee and Phelps wondered if the hours of legwork required to collect information such as the Notice of Default, Notice of Trustee's Sale, property tax information, and bankruptcy status were necessary, or whether there was a better way.

In 2006, Lee and Phelps began compiling this "due diligence" into a single database. As investors, they were amazed at the amount of time they were saving by being able to research foreclosure properties by consulting one source, as opposed to several different professionals who were each on their own schedule. In only a few months, both began to meet their goals of spending less time researching and more time leveraging.

It was in 2005 that Lee and Phelps began to investigate other subscription-based websites that dealt with foreclosures. Both investors came to the same conclusion: these sites simply didn’t have all of the information they would need in order to close a profitable deal. Moreover, they seemed to offer only a street address and an aerial photograph. It was at this point that both Lee and Phelps agreed that with the superiority of their collected information, they were in a position to launch the most informative foreclosure resource on the internet.

Further examination of other foreclosure websites revealed that little to no emphasis was placed on education; new foreclosure investors were expected to adopt a "sink or swim" mentality when it came to understanding the terms and processes endemic to the market. Lee and Phelps agreed that the tools to succeed in foreclosure investment would be absolutely useless to a novice investor if they didn’t know how to use them.

Foreclosure Trackers, Inc. was launched in 2006 in order to provide a one-stop foreclosure and defaulted mortgage resource to investors of all skill levels, providing the diligence, knowledge, and education necessary to succeed when investing in foreclosure properties. Today, it employs a dedicated and talented team of data aggregators, attorneys, investors, lenders, escrow agents, and private investors.
